TRITON aims to revolutionize cybersecurity validation in complex and high-assurance environments. It introduces a fully automated, AI-driven approach to penetration testing, enabling early vulnerability discovery, risk assessment, and mitigation. At the heart of the project are three pillars: automation, integration and HaaSS.
TRITON Newsletter #1
We are pleased to welcome you to the first newsletter of TRITON -Generative Automation of Security Penetration Test -, an ambitious research action funded under the European Defence Fund (EDF-2023).
Launched in December 2024, TRITON brings together a consortium of 12 partners from 8 European countries, united by a shared mission: to develop an intelligent, scalable, and automated framework for penetration testing tailored to the needs of military and critical infrastructures.
TRITON aims to revolutionize cyberdefence validation in complex and high-assurance environments. It introduces a fully automated, AI-driven approach to penetration testing, enabling early vulnerability discovery, risk assessment, and mitigation. At the heart of the project are three pillars:
- Automation of the full pentesting lifecycle,
- Integration with DevSecOps pipelines and real-world military workflows,
- Human-in-the-loop control through the novel concept of Human-as-a-Security-Sensor (HaaSS).
Over the first six months, the TRITON consortium has achieved several foundational milestones:
- Completion of the project handbook and quality assurance framework,
- Finalization of the detailed work plan and technical architecture,
- Hosting 1st Plenary Meeting in Cyprus and organization of the 2nd Plenary Meeting and a high-impact Stakeholder Engagement Workshop in Athens, bringing together end-users, defence experts, and ecosystem stakeholders.

We invite you to follow our journey as we continue to build a trusted and cyberdefence assessment framework for Europe’s resilient future.
